I'm still working on the texture photography artwork. This one is a bit different. The woman, Jai Johnson, who makes these backgrounds is amazing. She is a photographer and painter who sells textures and backgrounds for photographers to use with their clients. When I was a photographer, I used her textures and backgrounds for my bird photography. I've now started using her backgrounds with Daz Studio. As most of you know, I like to try different methods with Daz characters, props, and backgrounds.

I created the goats in Daz Studio. I then brightened up the painted background in Photoshop. Then saved the background as an 32bit HDR image. I plugged that HDR image into the Environment Map in the Environment tab in the Render Settings. This gave me the correct lighting angle and the correct color toning for my two goats. Doing this gives me a head start in blending the goats into the background image in Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, I added some paper and canvas textures, Finished blending the image into the background. Did some additional painting in Photoshop on both the background and the goats. (I'm in the process of adding Rebelle 8 to the post processing for these texture "photography" images. Rebelle 8 will give me greater freedom to add true traditional impasto.)

This was a fun new workflow for me with Daz and Photoshop. I did put a gridmark over the image (since I'm using Jai Johnson's background texture) as a way to honor her hard work and artistry. At first it seemed to me that you had made a landscape image, but with nothing behind the subject characters. What a great way of focusing our attention. However, in reading your narrative there is a much more complex approach to the project. Wonderful and very creative work!
