Without Warning Part 2 (No AI)
3D Render by slofkoskyRamsey had run for what felt like hours crashing blindly through the alien underbrush, attempting to keep cover while eluding the pursuers. The suit, soaked in sweat, mud and fear, seemed to cling tighter with every desperate step. Kip buzzed ahead, scanning terrain and flashing path markers through the haze, its voice long since silenced to avoid detection.
Behind her the machines had gone quiet. Maybe she lost them. Maybe they received new orders. What she did know was the trail of smoke and scorched vegetation they left behind would lead anyone or anything straight to the wreck. She’d have to return eventually, quietly, carefully, to scavenge what she could, if anything or anyone had made it through the fire. Part of her clung to the fading hope that Michael had survived, that somehow he’d found cover in time. She didn’t dare say it aloud, not even in her own thoughts, but his name burned just beneath the surface of everything.
The lake appeared suddenly, a flat dark expanse rippling in the mist from what she could tell through the nights fog. She didn’t stop. She charged in, boots splashing, the icy water shocking against her thighs, her skin frigid beneath the cold wet suit. Each breath was ragged, every motion heavy. By the time she staggered to the far bank her legs gave out, and she collapsed, one arm sprawled across her chest. The suit, smeared in wet earth, clung like a second skin, tracing the body’s curves with intimate precision.
Hair clung to damp cheeks, strands plastered against flushed skin as steam rose from parted lips with every ragged breath. A heartbeat thundered like a drumline, wild and frantic, the only sound in the heavy silence. For one breathless beat, every nerve in her body lit up, skin prickling, eyes wide, senses on fire, the world too sharp and close to bear before the weight of exhaustion swallowed her whole.
For hours, Kip hovered nearby, lens flickering dimly. Its programming parsed her vitals, tracking the shallow rhythm of her breath, the fluttering of her pulse. She was unconscious, vulnerable and his responsibility now. With silent vigilance, Kip remained on station, its lens sweeping the perimeter, locked in the solemn duty of watching over her.
She couldn’t hear the reeds part. Couldn’t feel the eyes upon them. But Kip did. It turned toward the shape moving through the fog but gave no signal. He simply watched as the creature stepped closer.
NOTES:
I guess I'm going to make each scene in this short story look like a front cover of a retro pulp sci-fi comic book. Oh and frames... where did that come from? At least that is how it is turning out so far.
Image #2 is pretty much the raw render but with the title and the beautiful Ron's Mud added in. I think I like this one better for the mood. #1 I added a feeling of some light breaking through while #2 feels more like total fog.

Great character...unfortunately for sure custom and not out of the box, right?

Sun, Jun 22Oh no, she's not custom and created as HID Ramsey. The link to the character is at the bottom of the "Daz Gallery Link" above. She's pretty for sure and thank you for the comment
This image is definitely front cover material - very mood-setting.
Come on, Kip, fry that alien!
