Monica didn’t move. Her fingers tightened on the pumpkin purse until the plastic creaked. She felt her smile wilt before it had a chance to fully bloom.

Then he was there, her boyfriend, just inches away. He looked her up and down, mouth a tight line. “I’ve worked hard for thishe muttered and pointing at the ground. “You were supposed to dress up, not down.
And just like that, everything she'd been holding in cracked inward. The late nights, the canceled dinners, the cold shoulders, everything she put into her costume for him, the way the line always went quiet when she asked about Candy when he worked late.

She didn’t argue. Didn’t ask what she wanted to ask.
Instead she turned gently, quietly, drifting toward the bar like a ghost.

Each step sank deeper into the carpet. Her body moved on its own but her heart stayed behind at the bottom of that staircase, holding onto what little was left of Monica.

NOTES: -----------
There's this weird things where I'm trying to start and end the story with her name. So this ending doesn't quite feel right, but it is what it is.

Once again using the SOON TO BE RELEASED "MSO Monica HD for Genesis 9" from Mousso. I'll update the link to the character once she officially hits the store.
