Almost Human (Part 4)
3D Render by slofkoskyAt the end of the second date, the rain gave them an excuse to stand closer.
Mara told herself that was all it was. Proximity. Weather. Circumstance.
But when Javier looked at her, patient and unafraid, every explanation began to fail.
She had been touched before. Held before. Wanted before.
Never like this.
For once, there was no assignment. No target. No command waiting beneath her skin.
Just his breath against hers. His hand steady at her side. The quiet, impossible feeling that she was more than what she had been built to be.
So Mara stopped calculating.
And kissed him.
NOTES: ----------------
This is the last piece I was able to finish before today’s deadline even though there are still a few things I would have liked to refine.
With this image I wanted to show Mara crossing another quiet threshold, not becoming human all at once, but beginning to feel something she does not fully understand yet.
I’ll continue the story outside of the contest for anyone interested.

Liking the story so far, will be interesting to see how this turns out....is it a curiosity to Javier, and personally, it would be for me
.. and how does Mara analyze this situation, always a pleasure to view your work.

Fri, Jul 03Signshop!! Thank you my friend.
I appreciate everything you said and am thankful that you have come along on this little story journey. Hopefully two more scenes and it's a wrap but until then, I hope to see some new work coming from you too.
Thanks a million!

Hello,
Great series and story. That thinking machine is just too cute-you're really good at giving it such great expressions.... I'm working like crazy right now, so I don't have much energy left for the artwork... even though I'm not short on ideas....
Can't wait to see your next story

The color of light you used really brings out the textures and details; the hair, coats and her metal knuckles. I'm now wondering, "What about her owner and the 'assignments'?" Will Mara ever be free?
