A Test of the British Heavy Dragoon Pistol Pattern of 1738
3D Render by EltucoIn this one we have a quick spin of the forthcoming P1738 Heavy Dragoon for DAZ Studio. This big horse pistol was set up in both pistol bore (.56 cal.) and carbine bore (.66 cal.) and reflects the essential design and decorative flair of early Board of Ordnance musket designs. Graceful for its size and purpose, this sturdy horse pistol served The Crown well for nearly a century.
The DAZ Studio recreation will have a poseable lock and user-friendly textures. As with the other offerings, the textures are set light in tone and pixel to allow the user freedom to adjust for light and setting. The top pistol in the image shows what can be achieved in seconds using resource friendly base textures and DAZ Surfaces sliders. The bottom shows what can be achieved in little more time with easily sourced applied third party textures on woods and flint. Either should serve the Rendo community well - especially for the price.
For grins compare this pistol with the earlier Queen Anne period dragoon already listed. Similar overall, but different in many regards.
