Board of Ordnance Model 1742 Long Land Musket
3D Render by EltucoIn this little spin we have a work in progress - the M1742 Long Land musket, a staple for the British Army in the mid 18th century. More robust than its predecessors, these firelocks served with some units into the American Revolution with upgrades such as steel rather than wooden ramrods and corresponding brass endcaps and funneled ramrod pipes. The example used for this work is a survivor from the Princeton Battlefield Museum set up by Jordan in 1745 with the above improvements.
