Almost Human (Part 2)
3D Render by slofkoskyBetween assignments, Mara spent the long train rides alone.
"The distance between stops is the worst part."
The voice caught her off guard.
A man beside her smiled over the top of a worn paperback.
"Huh?"
"The waiting" he said. "That's the hard part."
Nothing remarkable had happened.
Just a stranger making conversation.
Yet long after the conversation faded and he returned to his book, Mara found herself staring at her reflection in her phone.
And wondered why she couldn't stop thinking about his smile.
NOTES:---------------
I'm doing what I always seem to do... imagining a life beyond a single frame.
A person with a past, a future, fears, hopes and choices.
One image becomes a moment.
A moment becomes a story.

A very evocative image-you can really sense her thoughtfulness. It makes me wonder: to what extent has her consciousness as a machine developed or grown, allowing her to experience human emotions? What has changed in her mechanical neurons that has caused her to deviate from her original programming? Great work

Thu, Jun 18Thank you Samara Blue! I always appreciate your depth and thoughtfulness. Yeah, I wonder to what level are emotions and feelings able to be processed by future androids. Thank you my friend.

Thu, Jun 18Smile, I don’t know if my comments are profound.
I’m very interested in this topic of robotics - and, for me, that includes AI as well. I don’t believe that machines - or AI (if you don’t want to call it a machine) - can take on human abilities like emotions.
What I find much more dangerous is the idea that people are relying more and more on technology and AI, interacting with these systems, discussing their problems with them, and confusing the systems’ responses with human emotions directed toward them.

Wonderful image....I often wonder whether, when robots or cyborgs reach this level of refinement as in your artwork, people will begin testing them through conversation and emotional interaction to see if they can respond as naturally and authentically as a real human....best of luck:)

This is a wonderful image my friend although I would freak out if one sat next to me and started to talk

A wonderful image. Looks as if it was pulled from a movie still. The expression on her face drew me in. Nicely done!

A moment becomes a story. I like that. Outstanding cinematic look to this one. Since the man is reading a "real" book in the age of robots, perspectives must be quite different between them when it comes to 'waiting'.

At a billion calculations a second, the waiting can indeed be long.
